The Greater Chicago Classic Chevy Club was established in 1979, and incorporated in 1981 in the state of Illinois as a Not For Profit corporation.

The purpose of the corporation is to establish an association of members for the purpose of encouraging restoration and/or preservation of Chevrolet automobiles.

The Greater Chicago Classic Chevy Club is affiliated with Eckler's Classic Chevy International and serves as a local chapter.

Membership is open to all persons eighteen (18) years of age or older with a genuine interest in Chevrolets, ownership is not required.
